Fort Miles

Surrender of U-858 at Fort Miles on May 14, 1945. The U-boat is pulling up the to the Mine Wharf (the present fishing pier) to surrender to the men of Fort Miles

Fort Miles launch full of US naval personnel and marines off to take the surrender of U-858. Notice the men getting their weapons ready to board the U-boat.
